Military Historians are People, Too! Podcast

We've started a new podcast on military historians and scholars of war and society, focusing on who's behind the names and faces you see on book covers and in documentaries. How did these seemingly normal people get into history? What floats their boat about their special areas of study? Why do they think it matters? And what do these historians do when they are doing history? You may be surprised, but Military Historians are People, Too! Join us - history professors and military historians Brian Feltman and Bill Allison will help you get to know some of the best military historians in the business, and you might learn a thing or two along the way!

Vietnam War Posters

Americans from all walks of life served in Vietnam: Men and women, people of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, and people of different religions. They served in different climates, geographical locations, and occupations. Although their stories may not be as visible in popular narratives of the war, their service was no less significant. The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration offers a variety of educational posters that highlight those less visible narratives and experiences. They can be downloaded from the Vietnam War Commemoration website, and hard copies are available on request and free of charge for educational institutions to include middle schools, high schools, universities and colleges, museums and libraries.

As long as human beings continue to fight one another, military history will be relevant. The syllabi and other resources on this site provide excellent tools for approaching and teaching the difficult topics of war and its fallout. I wish this website had existed back when I taught undergraduate courses in American history.
